Stone Henge, and Bath

I have not wrote a thing in this blog for a long time too long! I am determined to write in it more. I wish I could be the awesome blogger my sister n law kristina is but I dont know if Ill ever be haha. I am going to start the blog from the first two weeks when Ian got back from deployment. The first thing we did was visit one of the Seven wonders of the world. It was amazing, what was it well it was the
Mysterious......

STONE HENGE!

It was so awesome to actually see it. We had heard it was pretty boring and was just a big pile of rocks. I cant believe we waited 2 years to see it. Yes it is but if you really open your mind think of how they were put there the 3 top boulder rocks are called bluestone and they weigh over 10 tons each. How the heck did someone get them on top and on perfect alignment. After 2 hours staring at it and taking pictures we did get kind of tired of it, not to mention it was freezing cold that day! In the middle of MAY too, I am so over the cold weather here sorry venting but it was a gorgeous thing to see here are some pictures we took

this is the head stone where the sunrise and the sunset are perfectly aligned with the tip top of the stone

It was so much fun and our journey did not end we went to one of the biggest english heritage sites the city of BATH!

We drove a couple more hours to get there. It was a very pretty drive when it stopped raining. When we got into bath it was such a historical city looked a little like hangtown placerville at first and then when we arrived at the abby and the historical baths we were in AWE

Here is the Abbey, which if some dont know is a church in england mostly prodistant and catholic.

this was in the abbey the american flag because in WW2 bath was attacked but it was built by romans in the 1400's

Here is a woman mourning over her husband, and alot of these abbeys are no pictures but we managed to get a couple. This is a beautiful piece of art the person is buried in the wall

And the Organ Ian was fascinated with this. It was being played when we were in the abbey and it was so powerful

Then we went to the building called the historical baths where romans came and overthrew the british and made a spa because there is a natural hot spring in the city the only one in England

this is the roman baths we had to touch the water it was 110 degrees farenheit it felt so nice, and yes we washed our hands after haha. Very contaminated water as there was over 1000's of Romans and different people that bathed in this and I dont think they had bathing suits back then haha

this is where the water falls and the spring falls on here, notice the yellow around the rock thats from 100's of years the water flowing over it

on the second floor of the baths

An old spa see the cement seats I can just picture the wealthy romans sitting there chatting it up about what city next to take over lol

this was a man that was found buried in the ground of the baths building

A priest that was said to have healing powers, he wanted to be remembered like this weird

We had so much fun and am excited to show our family what we got to see. Although we might miss home we are lucky we get to see this stuff. It was a lovely day and it didnt stop there this was only the first week of his R and R. We wish you all could of been with us
